Do you think you can win souls for me through the behavior you have just exhibited?
Ok my friend that was what the Holy Spirit whispered to me at the store.
You wonder what led to this right?
I’ll tell you: I went to the store recently with my children; they had drinks in covered cups, they were seated at the reception section and one of them accidently spilled his drink. He immediately went and got paper towel to clean it. He told me about it and I told him to get napkins to which he responded he already did.
Then I saw the store attendant get a mop to clean up the spill and I instructed my child to go and apologize to the attendant and make sure everything was ok and he did exactly that.
As I got closer, I saw that the attendant would not even look or acknowledge my child who was apologizing and standing by. I was irritated and I approached her and said you cannot acknowledge the little boy apologizing to you, I told her that my son took responsibility and did something about the situation so that he did not run away. She kept on having a bad disposition to the whole issue and responded that my son made a mess; I was angry (by this time my voice was raised high) I simply did not understand why she chose to be a difficult person! It was a mistake, he said sorry he did not run away, I mean what else did she want?
Immediately after my rage, the Holy Spirit whispered quietly to me asking me if the behavior I displayed will help win souls for the Kingdom of God. God rebuked me immediately; I felt bad. I apologized to the lady but I was disappointed in my self about my approach. Was I right? Yes but my approach to the whole situation was inappropriate.
I repent of my sin and I am more conscious of my behavior. There is a saying that one’s character is the real foundation of all worthwhile success. I do not want to be a failure!
I pray God will continue to mold us to fit His purpose.
Thank you for the Holy Spirit and please don’t ever take your Holy Spirit from me.
